On-trade elite announced as Pub Goers Conference speakers

Pub & Bar magazine has revealed the speaker line-up for the Pub Goers Conference, which this year is focused on the millennial market.

The event, which is free to attend for pub and bar operators, will be sharing exclusive findings on millennials throughout a packed day of presentations and insight. From why this key demographic go to the pub and what they consume when they’re there, to what else makes up their social life and decision-making tendencies, the 2017 Pub Goers Conference will leave attendees with reams of ideas and inspiration on how to attract the generation of the future.

The day will begin with Cardinal Research revealing the findings behind the 2017 Pub Goers Survey, now in its sixth year. After that, esteemed on-trade operators will take to the stage to talk about the millennial market in relation to their own businesses.

Andrew Stones, director of operations at Be At One, will be talking about the significance of data and how to put it to use when marketing the brand.

Alan Armstrong, head of marketing at Stonegate Pub Company, will be talking about Stonegate’s Common Room brand and the key learnings the business has picked up while rolling out the student-led concept.

Mel Marriott, MD of Darwin & Wallace, will discuss how the design and style process of a pub or bar can influence the appeal of venues.

Jason Thorndycraft, operations director of The Deltic Group, will look at millennials and the late night sector, as well as presenting key numbers from the Deltic Night Index.

Jane Jones, marketing director of Fuller’s, is going to talk all things marketing – what are the key considerations when attracting a younger clientele?

Joy Zarine, author of The Five Star Formula, will concentrate on the guest experience and what she found out while writing her latest book.

Paul Nunny, director of Cask Marque and chair of the Pub Accommodation Forum, will be looking at how the millennial market view and use pubs with rooms.

Finally, Brigid Simmonds, CEO of the British Beer & Pub Association, will return to the Pub Goers Conference to update attendees on legislation and the latest work from the BBPA. More speakers are yet to be announced.
