The number of pubs and bars that have entered the 2017 National Pub & Bar Awards has reached staggering levels.
As entries closed over the weekend, highflying venues from across the United Kingdom submitted their businesses in the hope of being crowned the best pub or bar in their county.
By the time the deadline had passed, an incredible 482 pubs and bars had thrown their hat into the ring, and will now eagerly await to see who has made it to the National Pub & Bar Awards grand final at BAFTA on Tuesday 23 May.
“When we launched the National Pub & Bar Awards in 2016, we knew there was an appetite for this style of trade celebration, where operators can use the accolade to market their business directly to their guests,” says Tristan O’Hana, editor of Pub & Bar. “Year one saw a healthy number of entries, but to reach nearly 500 individual submissions in year two is simply incredible. These pubs and bars recognise just how valuable being named the best in their county is, and, you never know, they just might go on to be crowned the best in the UK.”
The 94 County Winners will be crowned at a red carpet celebration at BAFTA on Tuesday 23 May, where each pub will also be up for a Regional Winner award, as well as the overall National Pub & Bar of the Year title.
